Annual Back To School Event
District 6 hosted their 7th Back to School and School Supply Initiative. This year they were able to provide over 1200 backpacks to needy students throughout the district. The students ranged from Pre-K to High School and included the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Catholic Charities as well as the Children's Shelter. Along with free food various organizations partnered to provide free services including free haircuts. Several mascots entertained the attendees throughout the event.
Partners assisting included: Division Laundry & Cleaners, First Mark Credit Union, Nationwide Insurance, Nankani LLC, Rios Salons, San Antonio Police Officers Association, San Antonio Fire Fighters Association, Toyota, HEB, SACU, VFW 9174, Castleridge Mortuary, EPI, Ortiz Pharmacy, Target, Texas Towing, Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, Selrico Services Inc., Monterrey Iron & Metal, Christus Santa Rosa, Intech Southwest, UPS, Warren High School, Brandeis High School, SAWS, CPS, Parks & Recreation, Food Bank, Cha Cha's Restaurant, SA Library, Incarnate Word College, St. Philips College, Animal Care Services, Code Enforcement, Cable Westwood NA and KB Homes.
Intech Southwest assisted by providing the transport vechicles and man power to tranfer backpacks from the District 6 office to Meadowcliff Community Center. Additionally Intech Southwest assisted in the setup of tables, banners, water and backpack placement for distribution.
